Committee work implements the Chapter's strategic plan. Committees form each spring, with leadership selected by elected officers.
Accounting Career Education
Inform local university and community college students about careers in accounting with presentations, campus visits, and other programs.
Branding and Community Outreach
Advance the image of the profession and the public’s understanding of the value of CPA professionals with low cost, efficient, and effective outreach.
Business & Industry Members
Conduct programs targeted to interests of members working in industry.
Raise CPA PAC funds and work cooperatively with TXCPA's legislative and regulatory activities to encourage communication with Texas state legislators in our region.
Assure quality CPE programs are delivered and needs of members are met through contracted CPE programs and volunteer planned events.
Members CPE Day
Develop and deliver an 8-hour CPE conference at nominal cost to members.
Provide oversight to staff and board efforts to expand and strengthen Chapter membership, with a focus on new licensees.
Members of this committee are designated by bylaws and elected by the membership as a whole.
The committee recommends members for consideration for TXCPA positions by the state Society's nominating committee. The committee selects a slate of Chapter officers and directors for election by the membership as a whole in January.
Nonprofit Interest Group
Plan and conduct programs of interest to CPAs working in or with nonprofits.
Organize members to fulfill gift requests at holiday time for children in care at the Center for Transforming Lives and other agencies dedicated to child welfare.
Plan and conduct a successful tournament held in the fall.
Identify topics and speakers to conduct a successful 2-day conference for tax practitioners.
UP Group | Under Forty Professionals
Plan events that add to the professional growth of members under 40 and assist them in creating connections within the business community.
