Where the Money Goes

The generosity of Texas CPAs allowed the Foundation to fund 50 scholarships in 2016 totaling $123,500. Recipients are accounting majors at a Texas college or university and have the intent of becoming a Texas Certified Public Accountant and entering the accounting profession upon graduation. They must have a high cumulative college GPA and perform well in accounting classes. Recipients receive $2,500 for the academic year. View the list of recipients.

Accounting Excellence Award

Awarded since 1969, the Accounting Excellence Award bestows honor to an outstanding accounting student at each of the Texas colleges and universities participating in the programs of the Accounting Education Foundation.

Every recipient has his or her name and year engraved on an individual plate for the permanent Accounting Excellence Award plaque at their school. In addition, an individual recognition plaque is presented to the recipient at the local TSCPA chapter meeting. This ceremony gives the recipient a chance to meet working CPAs in the vicinity and allows these CPAs the opportunity to congratulate and encourage the award winner. View the list of recipients..
