Stephen Parker has 29 years in public accounting specializing in the energy sector.
His significant clients have included ONEOK, Nabors Industries, Noble Corporation, American Midstream Partners, Newfield Exploration Company, Southern Union Company, Cabot Oil & Gas, Calpine Corporation, Targa Resources, Plains All American Pipeline, L.P., Kinder Morgan, GulfTerra Energy Partners, Hilcorp Energy, Macquarie Energy and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
He has significant experience with joint venture and partnership accounting, including MLPs. Parker has also consulted with clients on transaction structure opportunities and the related accounting impacts.
He has significant SEC and regulatory reporting and compliance experience, including IPOs and debt and equity offerings and has also consulted with energy clients on several significant accounting issues, including joint venture accounting, strategies for effective risk management and measurement, accounting for derivative instruments, purchase accounting, evaluation of goodwill and long-lived assets for impairment and miscellaneous rate-related contingencies. In addition to his work with energy clients, he is the lead partner responsible for PwC's recruiting efforts at Texas A&M University.
In addition to his previous service on the Executive Board both as a member and treasurer, he has served as a member of multiple committees. Parker has also served in various positions at the Houston Society of CPAs including as a board member, officer and the chairman of multiple Society committees.
In his local community, he serves on the board of Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana, including serving as chair of the audit committee and has served on the Administrative Board, Finance Committee and Investment Committee (as chair) of Chapelwood United Methodist Church.
Stephen is a graduate of Texas A&M University and serves as a member of the Accounting Advisory Council for the Lowry Mays College and Graduate School of Business at Texas A&M.
Parker and his wife Merita, reside in Clear Lake south of Houston and are the proud parents of three sons (all of whom are Aggies), Garrett (25), Grant (22) and Mason (19).
