Takin’ Care of Business Curriculum Meets TEKS Requirements
Thanks to a partnership between the Dallas Independent School District
(DISD) and the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs, a companion
volume to AICPA’s “Takin’ Care of Business” education
handbook was created.
This volume specifies the alignment between the 15 lesson plans included
in the handbook and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) requirements
for five secondary courses taught in Texas public schools. The five courses
are Administrative Procedures, Algebra I, Business Communications, Mathematical
Models with Applications, and Introduction to Business.
The following are Adobe Acrobat files (pdf format) detailing how each
of the 15 lessons meets the TEKS requirements. For a complete list of
TEKS for grades 9-12, visit http://www.tea.state.tx.us/teks/.
The Texas Society of CPAs extends its appreciation
to the following educators for their participation
in this project: Paulette Baines, Hobart Hukill
and Lynn Dehart.
