Peer Reviewer Directory

Alert - Important information regarding selection of a peer reviewer.

The 2006 reviewed firm’s Information Required For Scheduling Reviews form has been revised to add new practice areas and industries and drop off others. Peer reviewers must now revise their resumes to address these changes and not all of them have done so. If you have any of the new practice areas or industries listed below contact your reviewer to ensure that they have the necessary knowledge and experience prior to making your final selection of a reviewer. TSCPA will update its online reviewer directory as soon as possible. If you can not find a peer reviewer, please call TSCPA at 800-428-0272 and ask for either Lina Musick at ext. 291 or Jeanette Landers at ext. 609.

The new practice areas and industries not found in our online directory are below:

Practice area:

18 – Other Bank Audits

Industries:

126 FDIC Banking – FDIC institutions having total assets of $500 million or greater at the beginning of its fiscal year.
380 Defined Contribution Plans Full Scope
385 Defined Contribution Plans Ltd. Scope
390 Defined Benefit Plans Full Scope
395 Defined Benefit Plans Ltd. Scope
400 ERISA Health & Welfare Plans
405 Other ERISA Plans
410 Other Employee Benefit Plans
420 Industries Covered Under Single Audit Act A-133

A key element of a successful peer review is the reviewer. We have put together this directory to help you select a reviewer. This directory lists firms and reviewers that have expressed an interest in performing peer reviews of other firms and are available to help a firm in planning reviews, performing inspections, or reviewing selected engagements.

This year we have made the database searchable which should minimize the time it takes to locate a reviewer. Listed firms have contributed to the cost of the directory and are not necessarily the only firms qualified to conduct reviews. Because a firm is listed in this directory does not mean it is endorsed by Texas Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, or any component of either the Society or the Institute.

Please note that each of AICPA's review programs -- the Peer Review Program, and the Center for Public Company Audit Firm Peer Review program -- have established qualifications for reviewers that are set forth in the standards for performing and reporting on each type of review. It is the responsibility of the reviewed firm to confirm that its reviewing firm is appropriately qualified.

We hope you find this information useful and should you have any questions concerning the directory or the Peer Review program, use the following link to the Peer Review staff directory.
