Web-Site Suffix .Jobs Gets Approval Soon there will be a new way to find jobs online. Thanks to a newly approved Internet address suffix, endless surfing for job openings on many employer Web sites may be replaced by typing the employer Web address plus ".jobs" to more easily locate organizations' dedicated career centers. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the nonprofit group that oversees Internet addresses, approved the suffix that targets recruiters and hiring employers in April. Employ Media LLC in Cleveland operates the new suffix and plans to begin taking applications for Web site names in late spring or early summer. Employers will have to pay an annual fee for their new site names. Stay tuned to this issue to beef up your job hunting or candidate searching. |
