As a result of a decision by a hearing
panel of the Joint Trial Board, the following member had
his AICPA and TSCPA memberships terminated:
Billy W. Jarvis of Sherman; Jarvis was found guilty
of violating AICPA Bylaw 7.4.6 and TSCPA Bylaw Article
III, Section 8(d) for failure to cooperate in a disciplinary
investigation.
As a result of a decision by the Executive Board of TSCPA,
the following member had his TSCPA membership expelled:
James Michael Broomas of Baytown;
Broomas pleaded guilty Aug. 4, 2005, to a second-degree
felony of indecency with a child sexual contact, in
the 177th District Court, Harris County, Texas. He was
sentenced to four years probation with deferred adjudication
and was required to register as a sex offender for life.
Charles Steven Wheat of Garland. License was
revoked by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
Wheat was found guilty on Oct. 27, 2004, by a jury of
one count of indecency with a child by contact in the
282nd State District Court, Dallas County.
As a result of investigations of alleged violations
of the Codes of Professional Conduct of AICPA and TSCPA,
the following ethics cases have been resolved by settlement
agreement under the Joint Ethics Enforcement Program:
Blair L. Dance of Irving, suspended from
membership in AICPA and TSCPA for
one year effective July 1, 2005.
Kris D. Hinckley of Carrollton, suspended
from membership in AICPA and TSCPA for
one year effective July 1, 2005.
