TSCPA's Consumer Education Web Site Wins National Award
www.ValueYourMoney.org Receives
2007 Associations Advance America Award of Excellence

DALLAS — The 27,000-member Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), headquartered in Dallas, has won the Award of Excellence in the 2007 Associations Advance America (AAA) Awards program. The program is a national competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Center for Association Leadership in Washington, D.C.

TSCPA received the award for its consumer financial education Web site, www.ValueYourMoney.org. The site gives Texans access to free personal finance information for 11 specific stages in life such as high school, couples and marriage, life crisis, and retirement and estate planning. Resources available online include worksheets, quizzes, podcasts, a personal finance calendar, and materials for companies to use in educating employees about money matters. Portions of the site also are available in Spanish.

TSCPA is now in the running to receive a Summit Award, ASAE and the Center’s top recognition for association programs, to be presented in September 2007.

Now in its 17th year, the prestigious AAA awards program recognizes associations that propel America forward – with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service.
