Abilene Accountant Elected Chairman of Texas CPA Society
Jerry Love Named New Leader of 27,000-Member Organization

DALLAS — Abilene certified public accountant Jerry Love was recently elected chairman of the 27,000-member Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).
Love was officially elected July 1 at the organization’s annual meeting and will serve a one-year term as the society’s volunteer leader. As TSCPA’s top volunteer, he will chair the organization’s board of directors, which sets policy, manages programs and oversees activities designed to serve Texas CPAs.

During his tenure, Love will focus on expanding TSCPA’s financial literacy efforts, including the society’s Money Management U. workplace financial literacy program, as well as increasing the number of CPA and student members.

Joining Love as TSCPA officers are Jim Smith, chairman-elect, Dallas; Linda Johnson, treasurer, College Station; and Anthony B. Ross, Sr., secretary, Austin.
Along with Love, Smith, Johnson, and Ross, the following

Texas CPAs will serve on the TSCPA Executive Board:

Love is president/CEO and a shareholder of Davis, Kinard & Co., P.C. In addition to his CPA credential, Love also is a personal financial specialist, certified financial planner and certified valuation analyst.

His professional experience focuses on individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax return preparation and review including physicians, health care entities, non-profit organizations, manufacturing entities, construction companies, restaurants, retail stores, and variety of other professionals such as architects and attorneys. In addition, he has extensive experience in personal financial planning, litigation support and business valuation services.

Love is a frequent speaker and trainer for nonprofit organizations of all sizes in areas of board training, board responsibilities, strategic planning and fund raising.
He graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1975 with a BBA in accounting.
