Paving the Road to Financial Success
Bilingual Web Site Gives Texans the Answers to Their Financial Questions

DALLAS — Texans wondering if they’re on the road to financial success have a new online tool to help them plot their money roadmap.

The Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants today launched www.valueyourmoney.org, a free consumer resource with answers to common questions about saving, investing, credit, insurance, and other financial topics.

"With a growing number of Americans in the stock market, running their own businesses, and managing 401(k) plans, the premium on financial knowledge is greater than ever,” TSCPA Chairman Ed Polansky, CPA, said. “This Web site will be a resource that can help Texans of all ages address financial issues relevant to them.”

With key sections available in both English and Spanish, www.valueyourmoney.org site is part of TSCPA’s “360 Degrees of Financial Literacy” public service effort to increase the level of financial knowledge among Texas residents.

“Studies show that consumers in Texas and across the United States lack many basic financial management skills, leaving them vulnerable to potentially devastating financial situations,” Polansky said. “Texas CPAs recognize the need for unbiased financial information covering all stages in life and are committed to sharing their financial knowledge with their fellow Texans.”

Polansky said that sound financial planning offers enormous benefits for Texans of all ages.

“The truth is that today we have to work as hard at managing our money as we do at earning it,” Polansky said. “The 27,000 CPAs who belong to TSCPA hope that our efforts make that process a little easier.”
