800.428.0272, ext. 688 sseals@tscpa.net San Antonio Accountant Named Chairman of Texas CPA Society DALLAS — San Antonio certified public accountant Ed Polansky was recently elected chairman of the 27,000-member Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). Polansky was officially elected June 25 at the organization’s annual meeting and will serve a one-year term as the society’s volunteer leader. As TSCPA’s top volunteer, he will chair the organization’s board of directors, which sets policy, manages programs and oversees activities designed to serve Texas CPAs. During his tenure, Polansky will focus specifically on education-related issues and how education affects three of TSCPA’s core audiences: CPA members, students, and the public. Two top priorities for Polansky will be a statewide financial literacy effort that reaches out to consumers and students as well as a series of virtual town halls that will give TSCPA members the opportunity to weigh in on important professional issues. Polanksy is managing partner of San Antonio accounting firm Polansky McNutt Perry & Gentry and consults with closely-held businesses, their owners and related parties. He is a former tax partner with Ernst & Young, where he was director of the tax department and the entrepreneurial services department. Polansky earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the San Antonio Estate Planners Council as well as a former president of the San Antonio Area Foundation.
