The TSCPA CPA-PAC Committee, with concurrence from the Central Texas Chapter, has approved the endorsement of Martha Tyroch, Republican candidate for state representative, District 55.
District 55 encompasses most of Bell County and is an open seat, since Rep. Dianne Delisi is retiring from public office.
Tyroch has been a Bell County resident for the past 35 years, and is a mother, nurse and community leader. She was elected to the Temple City Council in 2000, and resigned in November of 2007 after serving for four years as Mayor Pro Tem of Temple.
She is a member of the Association of United States Army and has served on various boards including the City of Temple Planning & Zoning Commission, Temple Economic Development Corporation, United Way of Central Texas, Central Texas Council of Governments, Central Texas Workforce Board, Leadership Temple, Killeen-Temple Urban Transportation Study, and Junior League of Temple.
Among Tyroch’s priorities for the upcoming legislative session:
- Creating jobs and opportunities for residents of Bell County;
- Ensuring completion of IH-35;
- Strengthening the borders and fighting illegal immigration;
- Funding local schools;
- Improving access to quality healthcare;
- and eliminating government waste and returning the savings to taxpayers.
Tyroch has been endorsed by several statewide organizations including the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters, Texas Association of Realtors PAC, Texas Right to Life, Texas RN/APN PAC, and Texas Municipal Police Association.
Other local organizations that have endorsed her are the Temple-Belton Board of Realtors, the Killeen-Ft Hood Board of Realtors, Temple Area Builder’s Association Home Pac, Temple Professional Firefighters Association Local 846, and the Central Texas Fraternal Order of Police No. 29. She also has received an “A Rating” from the Texas State Rifle Association.
Martha has been married for 34 years to Jerry D. Tyroch, Jr., a CPA and Partner at Lott, Vernon, and Company PC. They have two children.
